On August 5, Amazon showcased its first B767-300F aircraft (modified cargo aircraft, its registration number is N1997A) at the Seafair 2016 Boeing Air Show (held from August 5-7 in Seattle, Washington). Its nickname is "Amazon One." The aircraft has been decorated with the logo of "Prime Air" on the body and the mark of Amazon on the tail. Amazon has concluded agreements for the lease of 20 B767F aircraft with each of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW), the parent company of Atlas Air, and U.S.-based Air Transport Services Group (ATSG). Atlas Air will operate B767-300BCF aircraft introduced at the show for Amazon.

A total of 40 B767F aircraft to be leased under the agreements with AAWW and ATSG will start to operate in stages. AAWW explained that it will ensure modification materials and slots for all 20 B767-300F aircraft to be leased to Amazon by the end of 2018 in the announcement of its financial results for the April-June period. Therefore, it is anticipated that AAWW will start services with all the aircraft within 2018.

Dave Clark, Amazon's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations stated about Amazon's first aircraft as follows. "By establishing transportation networks, we will be able to increase our capacity and assure our prime members of very quick delivery in the coming years."

Amazon has concluded an agreement for the lease of 20 B767F aircraft with ATSG for domestic air cargo transportations in March 2016. At the same time, Amazon and ATSG have agreed that Amazon has the right to acquire up to 19.9% of ATSG's common stock within the next five years. Likewise, Amazon has concluded an agreement for the lease of 20 B767-300 modified cargo freighter with AAWW in May and they have agreed that Amazon has the right to acquire up to 20.0% of AAWW's common stock within the next five years.
